Leadership & Legacy

The People Who

Planted the Seed

Leadership, Legacy, and the Bridge Forward

Dream’s Garden was brought to life through the vision and lived experiences
of three founders. Their leadership continues to guide this work as a bridge
between personal story and collective healing, shaping a model that connects
land, care, and communities across generations, cultures, and systems.

This work moves across families, neighborhoods, and institutions, creating
pathways for those navigating grief, transition, and transformation while
strengthening collective care, restoration, and long-term community impact.

Legacy Founder

Dream Ioni Shepherd

Dream Ioni Shepherd is the Legacy Founder of Dream’s Garden, an enduring force whose life continues to shape vision, purpose, and possibility. Though her time on this earth was brief, her impact was expansive, leaving behind a blueprint of courage, advocacy, and unwavering commitment to others.

From the moment she entered the world, Dream carried a presence defined by light, resilience, and deep awareness. Living with complex medical conditions, she moved through life not as a passive recipient of care, but as an active force for change, advocating alongside her mother to advance legislation that improved outcomes for medically fragile individuals and their families.

Dream understood that her experiences could be transformed into pathways that made life better for others. Whether through advocacy, creativity, or everyday acts of care, she embodied a commitment to impact that far exceeded her years.

She also carried vision. Dream imagined a world where care was integrated, where different approaches to healing could exist in alignment, and where individuals navigating complex journeys were met with understanding and support.

Dream’s Garden stands as a continuation of that vision, a living expression of what she believed was possible. Her legacy is not held in memory alone. It is activated through the work, the land, and the lives that continue to be shaped by her light.

As Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Dream’s Garden OCGDLC, she guides the organization’s strategic direction, shaping a model that bridges policy, care, and long-term community wellbeing.

With over two decades of leadership across law, nonprofit governance, and advocacy, Diana has advanced impactful legislation, strengthened organizational infrastructure, and cultivated partnerships that position Dream’s Garden for continued growth and expansion. At Dream’s Garden, she leads with clarity and conviction, ensuring that each initiative aligns with a broader vision of healing justice, access, and generational legacy. Her leadership reflects a balance of strategy and purpose, advancing the organization while holding space for the humanity at the center of the work.
